2019 was a busy year for everyone at PEKO. Our capabilities and manufacturing space expanded, we created new committees and opened our doors to host a private event for local CNC Machinists.

New Machinery & Equipment

As we continue to expand our operations, we have brought in a total of nine CNC Machines to our facilities. A few of which have been quite large to keep up with our demand of large, highly complex mechanical assemblies. These new machines will also allow us to expand upon our large CNC parts machining capabilities. You can find more information on our new machine acquisitions at the following links:

New Facility

PEKO added another building to our organization in 2019. This facility brought in 30,000 square feet of space to our assembly division and also allows for more clean room space.

Expanding Workforce

PEKO continues to expand our workforce and every year we add more skilled professionals to our team. Our organization is constantly looking for new talent and we continued to expand our talented workforce in 2019. From CNC Machinists, welders, assemblers to business administration rolls, we are always seeking talented personnel to join our expanding team.

On October 3rd, we opened our doors to area CNC Machinists for our first private event of its kind! We are happy to announce the event was a success and 38 people in total attended the event. During the event we provided a tour of our facilities and introduced qualified machinists to our floor supervisors. Overall, the event was a huge success and served as a gateway to add new, dedicated machinists to our PEKO team.

New Paint Oven

Since we have continued to grow our Sheet Metal Division during 2019, we added another oven to our paint department.  This new oven fits nicely right next to our powder coat paint line and has the capacity to fit our large weldments before they’re transferred over to our assembly division.

Sustainability Committee

This year, PEKO established a Sustainability Committee to ensure our company does its part in reducing our overall carbon footprint and diverts as much waste as possible from entering a landfill. Currently, our company has been able to divert 89% of the waste leaving our facilities and we hope to increase the percentage over the coming years.

We are currently in the process of switching all of our lighting from fluorescents to LED, which is quite a feat considering we own five buildings on our campus. Our maintenance department has also been testing Wi-Fi thermostats in a few of our buildings which will automate the heating and cooling throughout our facilities. These thermostats should reduce our overall energy usage when it comes to maintaining our building temperatures and we are excited to share this data once we have enough collected.

Despite PEKO’s 53 years of operation, 2019 brought many firsts to our organization. Thank you to our partners in sharing in our continued success as a full-service contract manufacturing organization. We are excited to bring in the New Year and see what 2020 has in store for us.
